It's A Rogue World Feat. Our Favorite Double Chocolate White Chip Cookies 2.3.25
Our new year resolution is this: make more cookies. Hear us out. We've always been healthy eaters but have become much more conscious of ultra-processed ingredients. In an effort to avoid them in our snack foods, we have vowed to cut down on the Milano and Chips Ahoy and make our own. Today we share our favorite double chocolate white chip cookie recipe. We also talk about the fascinating memoir Sociopath, our current fashion obsession, and how to use hemostats as a joint clip.

Double Chocolate White Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup Dutch pressed cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 16 oz semisweet chocolate
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 sticks butter (feel free to use some infused butter)
- 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 8 oz premium white chocolate chips
How to:
- Melt the chocolate on low in a saucepan stirring constantly; Set aside to cool
- In a standing mixer, cream the butter then beat in the sugars
- Reduce speed to low and beat in the eggs and vanilla
- With your mixer on low, add the cooled chocolate in a steady stream
- Add in salt and cocoa until just combined
- Add in baking powder and flour, scraping down the bowl, until just combined
- Fold in white chips
- Allow dough to rest for 30 minutes
- Line baking sheets with parchment and preheat oven to 350
- Make golf ball sized cookies and leave 1.5" between them
- Bake about ten minutes until the edges are set but the middles are still soft
- Pro Tip: we like to take half the batch, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and bake off a few at a time so they are always hot and fresh
Sociopath: A Memoir by Patric Gagne PhD
This brave and fearless memoir by Dr Patric Gagne details how difficult it was to grow up knowing you are different and that your differences make people uncomfortable. She details how, in an effort not to be accepted but to be invisible, she taught herself social emotions. She also, fascinatingly, shares how she policed her own dark impulses. The real point of the book, though, is to destigmatize this personality type. She is trying to get the reader to consider her central idea which is that sociopathy is a spectrum disorder, like autism, and affects many more people than we realize.
How To: Hemostats as Joint Clips
Our favorite multi-purpose tool are hemostats. This tool can be a scraper, a joint packer, and most usefully (in our opinion), a joint clip. They're great for preserving your manicures and keeping your hands burn-and-odor-free. They are super easy to use but we have seen even expert joint rollers use them incorrectly. At their core (and how they are used medically) they are clamps. Here's how to use them properly:
- Unlock the handles
- Pinch a teeny tiny bit of your joint near the bottom
- Lock the handles
That's it! Here's a little video guide to help illustrate.
Our Current Fashion Obsession: Amo Denim (Made in Los Angeles)
Long time readers know that I, Jess Cadmus, am a wardrobe stylist (@wardrobewhisperer). The number one question I've been asked lately is: "what jeans should I be wearing?" Of course the correct answer has to do with your body type but I've found myself recommending The Frida by Los Angeles denim maker Amo, quite a bit. They are high waisted and wide-legged, and pretty universally flattering. They're pictured here in White Oak but our favorite wash at this moment is Admire.
Thanks for tuning in, Paq. We wish you a glorious week and we hope you come back for more inspo next week. xo
